Dr Margaret Connolly, a native of Galway city, is a graduate of NUI Galway. She qualified in 1984 and has over 30 year’s medical experience. She established her own general practice in 1992 at 1 High Street, Sligo and provides high quality, comprehensive medical care to her patients both young and old.
The most commonly quoted definition of health is that formalised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) over half a century ago; “a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Dr Margaret agrees with this definition and firmly believes that exercise, mindfulness and meditation can enhance significantly one’s state of optimum health.
Dr Margaret believes a continuous warm, personal relationship with the same doctor over time can only positively enhance the health of the patient. This is the type of trusting doctor patient relationship that
Dr Margaret has endeavored to provide in her practice.
Quality time is of the essence in establishing a rapport with patients in order to elucidate the various emotional and psychological strands that contribute to disease and ill health.
Doctor Margaret acknowledges she has learned as many lessons from her patients as she has taught them. She gratefully acknowledges that experience gained at the coal face of general practice over the last 25 years has contributed significantly to her role as healer and doctor.
